Please consider donating to the PTSA’s Annual Fund and joining the PTSA Membership. Rather than asking children to sell products to raise money for PTSA funded programs, Stafford PTSA asks families to contribute to an Annual Fund. PTSA has budgeted over $60,000 to pay for this year’s programs, which is over $100 per student. However, any donation is greatly appreciated. By joining Stafford’s PTSA, you can help decide which programs PTSA offers for your child.
PTSA funded programs and services include – Science Teacher in Residence and supplies, Art Literacy, OMSI Night, Artist in Residence, grade level grants for special projects, outdoor research center, visiting authors, public speaking and leadership programs, music and PE updates, and courtyard improvements.
Donate by September 30 and you will be entered to win a $50 SCRIP card and Nike Employee Store Pass.
The Stafford Stampede is Friday, September 16. We still have many volunteer spots that need to be filled. Just one or two half-hour shifts makes a big difference. We couldn’t have this fabulous event without all our wonderful volunteers. Thank you for your support!
Welcome to the 2016-17 school year! The PTSA has already started planning and we’re excited to continue many of the wonderful programs our students, teachers, and parents enjoy here at Stafford Primary.
On behalf of our executive committee, we would like to invite you to become a member of the Stafford PTSA. Your voice and vote are not only encouraged but important in the shaping of our children’s future in education. Please know that no matter where your talents or interests lie, there is a place for you in the Stafford PTSA. The PTSA meets once per month and all are welcome! There’s a calendar of scheduled meetings and events located in the Calendar section on our website at http://www.staffordptsa.com. Board members, parents, our Teacher Representative, Amy Gilkey, and our Principal, Sara McCarney, attend these meetings to field questions and encourage new ideas and input.
The single envelope in the back-to-school packet lets you return your forms and write one check for all of the PTSA areas in which you choose to participate. While it’s not required to pay for everything at once, we hope that this will simplify the process and save you time. Again this year is the ability to donate to the PTSA Annual Fund and become a PTSA member ONLINE! Go to: staffordptsa.com . Complete the PTSA Annual Fund/PTSA Membership Form online before September 30, 2016 and you will be entered to win a $50 SCRIP Card and Nike Pass.
Please join us in positively impacting the lives of our children by supporting Stafford’s PTSA organization.

Hello Stafford families!
For over the past 16 years, Stafford Primary has kicked off the start of the school year with the STAFFORD STAMPEDE. This is an incredible opportunity to meet new families, teachers and administrators. This year the Stampede is scheduled for Friday, September 16 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Each year we celebrate with food, games, bounce houses, and even a DJ. Our kids look forward to it every year as a chance to catch up with friends and let off a little steam before the school year really gets underway.
Below you will find links for ticket purchases as well as volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are very crucial to the success of this event and help make this event a very joyous and memorable experience for our children. There are numerous shifts throughout the evening, please consider helping for 30 minutes.
We look forward to seeing you and your family at the 2016 Stampede.

Please join us in celebrating Ms. Holly Menoher.
February 28th at 2 pm at ATHEY CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOL
Stafford primary lost one of their dear family members, Holly Menoher, to brain cancer this last Monday. Ms. Menoher was a special friend to many staff members and parents, but above all she was a phenomenal teacher who profoundly touched the lives of many students in our district. Holly had a gift for connecting with and inspiring a thirst for learning in her students. In honor of her passion, Stafford PTSA plans to help create The Holly Menoher Outdoor Classroom. The courtyard situated between the principal’s office and the hallway that leads to the playground will undergo a major renovation to include additional hardscaping around the perimeter, large boulders for students to sit on, ornamental trees, low maintenance plants, picnic tables, a rolling white board and more.
Justin Leblanc, a former Stafford student, will be heading this renovation as his Eagle Scout service project. Many of the materials are being donated by local business, however to help ensure costs are covered, the PTSA Community Service dine-out funds that normally go towards an international community service project in the spring will stay at Stafford this year to construct the Holly Menoher Outdoor Classroom. The PTSA also held a special vote on Wednesday morning to release up to $1,500 in funds to cover additional costs. If you have ideas about specific features for the courtyard that you feel would honor Holly, please let us know so we can take those into consideration during this project. We are also happy to accept any donations to be earmarked for the Holly Menoher Outdoor Classroom as it is PTSA’s hope to make this unique learning space one that will be as inspirational as Ms. Menoher was to her students.
If you are looking for an early childhood program, then check out Willamette Children’s Academy. They offer an early childhood program that provides for the development and growth of the whole child, ages 3 years through Pre-Kindergarten.
